This study will investigate the kinetics of the austenite phase transformation in industry-graded steels under mechanical loading. By utilizing a plasto-dilatometer, we will monitor the real-time evolution of the microstructure during thermal cycles while the material is subjected to tensile stress.
To accurately quantify phase fractions and lattice behavior, in-situ X-ray diffraction will be employed, providing a direct observation of the transformation progress as it occurs. This integrated approach aims to analyze how external stress and internal defects influence the stability and decomposition of austenite, offering critical insights for optimizing industrial heat treatment and forming processes.
