Borago officinalis Raw sequence reads

Borage (Borago officinalis) is a traditional medicinal and culinary herb native to the Mediterranean. The borage seeds good resource of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) since they contain 26%-38% oil with about 25% GLA. Seeds of 15 DAP from the three different borage varieties were selected, and their transcriptomes acquired by using Illumina sequencing platform which are assembled into 59,970 unigenes were compared and analyzed. A total of 78.11% of the unique sequences were annotated. These data will facilitate the gene discovery in borage and provide an important resource for the molecular genetics and functional genomics studies in this species.
