This dataset contains data from a large-scale field experiment on carrion decomposition conducted in subtropical China within the BEF-China forest biodiversity experiment. It includes measurements of decomposition rates of 1,728 mouse carrion and records of 30,975 invertebrate decomposers sampled across 96 forest plots in spring 2023 and summer 2024.
