Transcriptomic response of Phytophthora rubi to IBA and TIBA treatment

RNA-seq was used to characterise the transcriptomic response in Phytophthora rubi to auxin (Indole-3-butyric acid - IBA) and auxin transport inhibitor (2,3,5-triiodobenzoic acid - TIBA). Both chemicals led to significant inhibition of mycelial growth with increasing concentration. Agar plugs of the P. rubi isolate SCRP333 were grown on lima bean liquid media supplemented with 10 ppm IBA, TIBA or DMSO as a control. At 7dpi, mycelia were collected from the floating plugs and used for RNA extraction. Samples were collected from four biological replicates. Differential expression analysis identified, amongst many, genes related to ATP binding and membrane transport.
