Aim of this study was to monitor differentially expressed gene signatures of human first trimester villous cytotrophoblasts (vCTBs) undergoing spontaneous differentiation into syncytiotrophoblasts (STB). Villous cytotrophoblasts (vCTB) were isolated from of first trimester human pooled placentas (6-7th weeks of gestation), seeded onto fibronectin-coated cell culture dishes and analyzed after 20 and 72 hours. Examination of gene expression signatures of fusing cytorophoblasts was performed by Next Generation sequencing, the analyses contain in total 6 samples, 3 replicates of 3 individual cell preparations.
