Kawaihae Harbor site investigation, in Site investigation data from Kawaihae Harbor, Island of Hawaii

The project performed geotechnical site investigation at the Kawaihae Harbor site with the NHERI@UTexas large mobile shakers. The project collected cone penetration test (CPT) data profiles, and seismic pressure-wave and shear-wave velocity profiles. Bulk soil samples were collected for laboratory characterization. Soils at the site consisted of calcareous deposits and dredged soil. Earthquake liquefaction was observed at the site following the 2006 M 6.7 Kiholo Bay earthquake (Robertson et al. 2006). The data can contribute to site analysis efforts, or contribute to investigations into the geotechnical behavior and properties of calcareous sands.
