Prolonged efficacy of Bifidobacterium lactis in the treatment of functional dyspepsia

Functional dyspepsia (FD) is a common chronic gastrointestinal disorder, with the total global prevalence of 21%. The recurrent symptoms of FD and the lack of long-term efficacy of therapeutic drugs perplex the physical and mental health of FD patients. Probiotic has been proved to have the potential to alleviate FD; However, the prolonged efficacy and the underlying mechanism remain unclear. So a randomized, positive-drug, placebo-controlled clinical trial was designed in this study.
