Dataset for: The impact of social support on college students' prosocial behavior: The chain mediating roles of empathy and self-efficacy and the moderating roles of extraversion and agreeableness

This dataset contains the anonymized research data underlying the manuscript entitled “The impact of social support on college students' prosocial behavior: The chain mediating roles of empathy and self-efficacy and the moderating roles of extraversion and agreeableness.” The study was based on questionnaire data collected from 1,884 undergraduate students in Dalian, China. The dataset includes the variables used in the statistical analyses reported in the manuscript, including social support, empathy, self-efficacy, extraversion, agreeableness, prosocial behavior, and demographic variables (gender, academic year, and major). The data were de-identified prior to public sharing. This upload provides the minimal anonymized dataset necessary to reproduce the analyses reported in the manuscript, including descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, mediation analysis, and moderation analysis. The associated manuscript examines the direct and indirect effects of social support on prosocial behavior, as well as the moderating roles of extraversion and agreeableness.
