Heilongjiang Province produces 130 million tons of straw annually, and the government attaches great importance to the straw burning issue, having issued the *Work Plan for Supervision and Inspection on Time-limited Resolution of Open-air Straw Burning (2020–2021)*.
The ban period for straw burning in Heilongjiang runs from September 15 to May 15 of the following year.
