Targeting GLP1-R in atherosclerosis

We examined GLP-1 receptor (Glp1r expression in murine atherosclerosis and atherosclerosis-relevant cultured primary cells. Using sensitive Southern blotting technique examining full-length Glp1r ORF transcripts we found that Glp1r expression is highly variable in atherosclerosis and does not depend on the disease state. To explore this variability and to gain insight into the pattern of the Glp1r expression, we performed bulk RNA sequencing (RNAseq) using the same RNA from which cDNA was generated for PCR amplification and Southern hybridization.
