CRC is a heterogenous disease with different genetic and epigenetic backgrounds. The PI3KCA gene codes for the catalytic subunit p110 alpha of phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase (PI3K). Determining the frequency of PIK3CA mutations in CRC in different populations may provide a better understanding of the pathogenicity and prognosis.
