资源简介:
As part of a comparative genomics study designed to understand the mechanism of Saccharomyces cerevisiae genome evolution, the Broad Institute sequenced the Lachancea waltii (synonym: Kluyveromyces waltii) strain NCYC 2644 genome at 8X coverage using whole genome shotgun (WGS) sequencing. They assembled the Lachancea waltii sequence into essentially eight complete chromosomes, and annotated the draft genome, identifying 5,230 predicted protein-coding genes. The scientists concluded that Saccharomyces cerevisiae originated from an ancient whole-genome duplication.
