The Monthly Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) can be used to monitor and evaluate drought characteristics of drought periods lasting 1 month or longer. Developed using data from 427 meteorological stations across mainland China during 1961 to 2018, this daily SPEI dataset addresses the limitation of coarse temporal resolution associated with the monthly SPEI product.
