The series consists of bound volumes of minutes of the regular meetings of the Newcastle Technical Education Advisory Council, recording discussions and recommendations made by the council, and also discussions of issues raised by its sub-committees (e.g. for buildings and equipment, library, education, finance), which fed into the main council recommendations.The minutes of the Advisory Council record discussions and recommendations in respect of planning, improvements and alterations to buildings and grounds, potential sites for new buildings, equipment, general organisation, finance and expenditure, staff appointments, new courses and variations of existing courses, and matters affecting the welfare of students and ex-students. There are indexes in the front of each volume.
