资源简介:

Copper rove from the wreck of the Earl Of Abergavenny. ID:EOA:2022.80.3 Collection: Earl of Abergavenny Classification: Ship's structure/function Measurements: Diameter 510mm Depth 60mm Date made: as yet unknown Display: not on display Manufacturer/Creator: as yet unknown Credit: Portland Museum Trust Roves, or washers, were used in the construction of wooden hulled ships just as nails and washers are used today. This is a small example and so was probably not used on the hull but maybe on lighter, internal fittings than the thick, heavy planks of the main structure. Copper was used as it is very resilient to corrosion from salt water.
