White lupin (Lupinus albus L.) forms cluster roots (CRs) to improve soil exploration and nutrient acquisition (mainly phosphorus). Trehalose metabolism pathway plays a vital role in the development of CRs. LaTRE1 (TREHALASE) encodes the only enzyme that degrades trehalose into glucoses. We generated a detailed transcriptomic dataset of LaTRE1-overproducing hairy roots to survey its roles in CRs development.
