Dataset for "Supercooled Water as a "Catalyst" vs. "Luxury" in Orographic Snowfall over Semi-Arid Northwest China"

The file “China_hourly_surface_observations_CMADaaS.xls” provides hourly surface observations from several stations in the Liupan Mountain region of China, which are used to compare observations with model simulations. The file “era5_pl_2023020800.nc” provides the ERA5 reanalysis data from ECMWF, which are used to generate weather charts and analyze synoptic conditions. The files “mrr_Raw_data__LD_20230207.nc”, “mrr_Raw_data__LD_20230208.nc”, “mrr_Raw_data__LDs_20230207.nc”, and “mrr_Raw_data__LDs_20230208.nc” contain Micro Rain Radar (MRR) data from the Liupan Mountain station for analyzing the vertical structure of snowfall. The nine wrfout files provide the simulation results from the WRF model.
