资源简介:

An incomplete copper alloy Polden Hill style brooch, of mid to Late Roman dating (mid 2nd to 4th Centuries). Around 75% of the brooch is present, with the pin missing and the foot incomplete. The brooch has cylindrical wings, with a pierced wing cap, slightly bigger than the wings. Shoulder ridges are present between the bow and the wings. A rearward facing hook is situated at the top of the head, this still retains part of the spring. The spring is still contained in the recess behind the wings. 8 coils on the spring can be counted. The front of the bow has a triple raised rib in the centre, running vertically. This terminates in a raised V shape at the mid point on the bow. The foot is incomplete. On the back of the bow, is a vertical ridge, which would have formed part of a vertical catchplate.
