Processed metatranscriptomic outputs, visualization scripts, and geochemical datasets from deep-sea sediment microbial communities

This data release accompanies the published study in Nature Communications (2026) investigating microbial community structure and activity in deep-sea sediments using metatranscriptomics (Nature Communications). It includes the primary output tables generated from the assembly and annotation of seven metatranscriptomes using the SqueezeMeta pipeline ("Squeeze_Meta_Tables"), along with curated datasets and R scripts used for downstream analysis and visualization ("Visualization"). A subset of resulting figures is provided ("Plots") to illustrate key results. In addition, this release contains the source data underlying all figures involving biogeochemical measurements ("Geochemical_data"). Together, these materials provide the processed data products and analytical resources necessary to reproduce the main findings of the study, while raw sequencing data are available through the NCBI Sequence Read Archive (SRA) under the associated BioProject (PRJNA1299367).
