The complete mitochondrial genome of Phortica okadai in China. Phortica okadai

In China, drosophilia flies of the genus Phortica are considered as the intermediate host and vector of the Thelazia callipaeda eyeworms. We reported and analysed the complete mitochondrial genome of Phortica okadai in this article. The total genome size was 16,800 bp in length and contains 13 protein genes, 22 tRNA genes, 2 rRNA genes and one D-loop region. The base composition of the heavy strand was 39.26% A , 38.75% T, 23.89% C,and 9.15% G , with the GC content was only 21.99%. The complete mito-genome sequence will provide significant data for a better to understand the evolution of the Diptera insect.
