The Sonardyne Fetch 8306-9925 SN 329744-001 was deployed on 2021-08-13 at Barkley Canyon Upper Slope. Upper Slope is a location within Barkley Canyon, which is located on the upper continental slope. This device is a Acoustic Transponder. An acoustic transponder is a device that can transmit and receive acoustic signals. When it receives a specific interrogation signal it responds by transmitting a specific reply signal. Transponders can be used for calculating distances or positioning information. It was deployed on a fixed platform.
