YM2413-MDB is a dataset of 1980s FM video game music, created by the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. This dataset contains 669 audio and MIDI files from Sega and MSX PC games, which utilize the YM2413 programmable sound generator. The music in the dataset consists of 15 monophonic instruments and one drum instrument, and each song is annotated with 19 emotional tags. YM2413-MDB aims to address the issues of fixed instrument count and lack of advanced annotations in music generation research, and is applicable to studies on emotion recognition and emotion-conditioned symbolic music generation.
