Multidisciplinary Knowledge Integration to Support Louisiana Coastal Indigenous Communities - Interview & Geospatial Data

This goal of this project was to better understand how the United Houma Nation (UHN) adapts to natural and human induced impacts on the environment across the coast. The UHN and researchers from UNO and LSU collaborated using interdisciplinary methods and traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) to understand the environmental stressors, the adaptations to those stressors, and how the tribe will adapt to the future. Project data were collected mainly through interviews of UHN members/TEK experts. The text data includes notes and transcripts from interviews. Image files are photographs taken during the interviews. Spreadsheets are databases of codes that emerged from the interviews. The geospatial data are maps created based on codes and themes that emerged from the interviews with the experts.
