资源简介:
Antimicrobial resistance represents a global health threat to public health. The presence of MDR in environment, animals and food clarifies that all three biological sectors should be monitored for AMR presence using the One Health concept. This concept considers the interdependent human and animal health in association with the environment, where they live. For the surveillance of antimicrobial resistance Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission (GSBTM) has initiated the project entitled Network program on AMR, superbugs and One health. The emergence of antimicrobial resistance to certain antibiotics has increased in livestock and poultry over the past few years due to increased antibiotic usage for therapeutic health purposes in animals.Milk is the most important source of nutrients for humans. It is an excellent medium and source for bacterial growth. The presence of antimicrobial resistance genes in milk microorganisms leads to the possible emergence and spreading of antimicrobial resistance. In this study, we used whole-genome sequencing (WGS) to characterize multi-drug resistant raw milk microorganisms from the raw milk of Gujarat region, India. We have identified novel sequence types of bacterial species isolated from raw milk and all the isolates were harbouring multiple antimicrobial genes as well as virulence factors and mutation. College of Dairy Science, Kamdhenu University, Amreli is one of the node in Network program on AMR, superbugs and One health, who explores this AMR surveillance in raw milk microorganism.
