This study aimed to characterize the full-length transcriptome landscape of ovarian tissue in two sheep breeds with contrasting fecundity: Small Tail Han sheep and Dolan sheep. By generating high-quality, full-length transcript data using Oxford Nanopore technology, we sought to gain a deeper understanding of gene expression patterns and potential regulatory mechanisms underlying differences in reproductive potential between these breeds. This data provides a valuable resource for researchers investigating sheep ovarian biology, particularly those interested in identifying genes and isoforms associated with fertility and reproductive efficiency. The comprehensive dataset of transcript isoforms, novel genes, and novel transcripts can facilitate further studies on gene function, alternative splicing events, and long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) roles in the sheep ovary.
