The dataset contains sequences of furanocoumarins biosynthesis related genes of Ficus carica. Fig gene sequences have been identified by performing an analysis of sequence similarity between furanocoumarin-related genes of other plant species and the fig leaf transcriptome. We identified 13 genes related to the biosynthesis of furanocoumarins, of which 3 encoding umbelliferone synthase, one encoding a 6-prenyl transferase, 6 encoding psoralen synthase, and 3 encoding angelicin synthase. Sequences have been deposited in the GenBank database under the accession numbers OP577463-75. Alignments of deduced proteins to similar proteins in other plant species are included.
