Dataset for Fig. 1: Global Distribution of Daphnia Microinjection Research (2013–2025)

This dataset supports Fig. 1 in “User guide for Daphnia microinjection” and maps the global distribution of research activity using Daphnia microinjection from 2013–2025. Records were compiled from a Google Scholar search (“daphnia microinjection”), with results screened for relevance and duplicates removed. Author names and publication metadata were exported, while institutional affiliations were manually curated for each author due to limited availability in standard metadata. The dataset includes intermediate and final files documenting the full workflow: initial search results, screening steps, cleaned datasets, manually annotated author roles and affiliations, and the R Markdown script used for data processing and visualization. This provides a transparent and reproducible pipeline for identifying where Daphnia microinjection research is conducted globally.
