资源简介:
US Northeast Cleaned Data contains network metrics aggregated by census tract (GEOID) produced from our analyses. The file \"US_Northeast_Electric_Network.shp\" includes line geometries representing medium-voltage electric distribution segments in the US Northeast. It contains 3,978,273 line records, covering 72.46% of the regional population and 84.96% of the land area. These segments represent portions of the electric distribution network and are stored as spatial lines. Key variables include: geometry: LineString, geometric representation of the circuit segment HostCap_MW: Hosting capacity, representing the maximum distributed energy (in megawatts) that a circuit segment can accommodate without requiring system upgrades. Voltage_kV: Nominal operating voltage (in kilovolts) of the primary distribution feeder (medium-voltage). Low-voltage secondary networks and transmission-level voltages are not included. CircRat_A: Circuit rating in amperes (A), indicating the current-carrying capacity of the segment. Phase: Number of alternating current (AC) phases—typically 1, 2, or 3—defining the configuration of energy flow. Company: Utility provider responsible for the segment. State: US state where the segment is located. Substation: Associated electrical substation, if applicable. GEOID: Unique census tract identifier linking each segment to demographic and economic data. Together, these fields provide a comprehensive description of the technical and spatial characteristics of the electric distribution network across the US Northeast. The .shp file in this repository includes its required companion files for correct GIS operation: .shx (spatial index), .dbf (attribute table), .prj (projection information), and .cpg (character encoding).
