Microbiome and inquiline communities of pitcher plants vary depending on the host plant species

In this study, we surveyed and compared the bacterial, fungal and inquiline communities from suspended and ground-dwelling pitchers of Nepenthes ampullaria, Nepenthes gracilis and Nepenthes rafflesiana from the same habitat to uncover three key aspects. Firstly, we aimed to discern whether differences exist in the bacterial, fungal, and inquiline communities among the three Nepenthes pitcher plant species. Secondly, we hope to investigate potential differences in these communities between the suspended and ground-dwelling pitchers. Lastly, we delved into finding key indicator bacterial, fungal and inquiline species in the various Nepenthes plants.
