This data was collected to determine the social and economic contribution fisheries provide for coastal communities in Kenya.The data was collected from July to September 2019. The data covers areas from Shimoni (04°48′38″S 39°22′59″E), Tiwi (4°15′10″S 39°35′31″E), Vipingo (3° 48' 28''S 39° 49' 54'' E ), Uyombo (3° 23' 40'' S 39° 58' 2'' E). Fishers were asked their consent in the study and surveys were conducted at fish landing sites or within homes using pen and paper.
