World cohort fertility database

The World Cohort Fertility Database is a database containing completed cohort fertility rates by birth cohort (by mothers' year of birth) for five-year birth cohorts from 1935–1940 to 2045–2050. The estimates were derived by converting from period to cohort fertility rates using age-specific fertility rates taken from the Bayesian hierarchical model of the SSP-2 projection scenario (median fertility variant) developed by the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) as part of research conducted by the Wittgenstein Centre for Demography and Global Human Capital, in collaboration with the Vienna Institute of Demography of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the University of Vienna, January 2025 version.
