Metals such as copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) act as essential trace elements for normal bacterial physiology but may also kill bacteria at high concentrations. Here, we employed saturated transposon mutagenesis, and high-throughput transposon directed insertion-site sequencing (TraDIS) to identify genes associated with metal ion resistance in Streptococcus agalactiae.
