Our objectives for this study were (i) to examine the effect of different straw return modes on soil labile carbon fraction, soil enzyme activities and the composition of soil bacterial communities; (ii) to analyze the relationship between dominant bacterial groups and soil organic carbon fractions, soil enzyme activities, and (iii) to assess the response of crop yield to different straw return modes.
