Locomotor performance and survivorship in juvenile and adult Eastern cottontail rabbits (Sylvilagus floridanus)

Data are from a long-term study of musculoskeletal growth, locomotor performance, and survivorship in Eastern Cottontail Rabbits (Sylvilagus floridanus). Locomotor performance data include mean acceleration achieved over single half-bounding strides from a standing start, escape speeds (i.e., final velocity at the end of the stride), and mean COM power during the strides, and stroke duration (duration of hindlimb contact). Data were quantified using a combination of 3D video-based kinematics and force plate recordings. Survivorship data include peak acceleration and escape speed per individual, and duration of survivorship following release into the wild after locomotor testing.
