Transcriptome profiling of zebra chip disease of potato

A transcriptomic study was conducted to better understand the response of the potato plant to the bacterial plant pathogen that causes zebra chip disease. Potato plants were infected with Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum by grafting with infected tomato stems or via tomato potato psyllids. Control treatments were uninfected grafts and uninfected psyllids, as well as untreated plants. After seven weeks, leaf, stem and tuber samples were taken for RNA-sequencing.
