Personal Protective Equipment Dataset in an Industrial Cheese Production Environment (Hairnets, Masks and Gloves)

This dataset contains images of personal protective equipment (PPE) used in industrial cheese production environments. The dataset focuses on three critical food safety protection elements commonly required in dairy processing facilities:- Hairnets- Face masks- GlovesThe images were captured in real operational environments inside cheese production plants and include workers performing normal production tasks. The dataset reflects real-world industrial conditions including variations in illumination, worker posture, camera angles, and partial occlusions.The dataset was created to support research in computer vision systems for automated monitoring of food safety compliance using deep learning and transfer learning techniques.The primary objective of this dataset is to enable the development and evaluation of models capable of detecting the correct use of personal protective equipment in food processing environments.This dataset was developed as part of the research project:"Automated Monitoring of Personal Protective Equipment Usage using Computer Vision and Transfer Learning in Dairy Production Plants"conducted within the Master's Program in Computer Science at Universidad Austral de Chile.Possible research applications include:- PPE detection using deep learning- Automated compliance monitoring in food processing plants- Transfer learning experiments with industrial datasets- Safety monitoring systems for food production- Training datasets for object detection models such as YOLO, Detectron2 or DETRThe dataset includes real-world variability typical of industrial environments and is intended for academic and applied research in computer vision for industrial safety and food production.File format:Images are provided in compressed ZIP format.
