Murray et al 2022 - Antibacterial effects of propolis and brood comb extracts on the causative agent of European Foulbrood (Melissococcus plutonius) in honey bees (Apis mellifera) - Supplemental Data and Figures

"Murray et al 2022 - Suppl. data": OD600 readings of wells containing bacteria and treatment (od) or bacteria and solvent (od_solvent) at the mid-growth phase (tmid; as determined by a standard growth control) over a 12-hour period. The difference between these two OD600 readings was recorded (od_diff) to account for the bacterial inhibition by the 70% ethanol solvent. Controls for each replicate included the aforementioned solvent control (solv.ctrl), untreated standard growth control (avg.std), and a positive control of antibiotic oxytetracycline hydrochloride (avg.otc). Each treatment extract was subject to a series of eight two-fold dilutions. Diluted treatments are indicated by numbers, where honey.1 would be the crude extract and honey.8 would be the most dilute. "Murray et al 2022 - ecoli analysis; ssaprophyticus analysis; mplutonius analysis": R scripts for MIC analysis of honey comb extract, brood comb extract, and propolis ectract on three bacterial species: E. coli, S. saprophyticus, and M. plutonius. "Raw data" zip files: Zip files for each bacterium tested. Files contain raw data for all 96-well plates in which bacteria were treated with honey comb extract, brood comb extract, or propolis extract. Files also contain associated R scripts in which the mid-log phase was determined for each plate. "Murray et al 2022 - Suppl. - Ecoli; Ssaprophyticus; Mplutonius raw curves": Each pdf file contains raw growth curves for either E. coli, S. saprophyticus, or M. plutonius when treated with honey comb extract, brood com extract, propolis extract, as well as controls (positive control, solvent control, standard growth control, and sterility control).
