Woodlot, Dataset 3

This data was collected on September 23, 2014 from 2:30pm to 3:30pm by a group of four students (Anna-Lisa, Gabriella, Gracy and Sangavi) at the Saywell Woodlots found South of Rexall Centre at York University Keele Campus. The temperature during this duration of time was approximately 20°C. Starting at the edge of the woodlot, a transect tape was laid down in a straight line towards the centre of the woodlot. Each time an adult tree was close to the transect tape, it was measured. A tree was determined an adult tree if it was atleast twice the height of the experimenter (around 11ft). For each of the chosen trees, distance to the nearest adult tree, diameter at breast height and condition was recorded for both trees. The condition of each tree was determined using its state and canopy at the present time from 0-2, 2 being a tree with a huge green canopy, 1 being living and 0 being dead. A total of 10 pairs of trees were measured in this experimental lab.
