资源简介:

The data set contains the centroid points of biotope tree groups in the managed forest of the Free State of Saxony. Biotope tree groups are one or more trees of lower quality, which are used to permit selective decay phases and enrich the forest with dead wood. Numerous animal species depend on biotope trees and dead wood (tree caves, fringes, crown fractures, dead standing or lying trees, etc.). The preservation of at least some such trees (about 3-5 strong trees per hectare) also in managed forests is an important goal of nature conservation in the forest. Where possible, for reasons of road safety, occupational safety and ecological networking, biotope trees are preserved in groups, the so-called biotope tree groups. The marking of biotope tree groups takes place permanently on site. A point marks the center of a biotope tree group. At each point, the number of trees and the year of initial marking in a biotope tree group is indicated.
