Xanthomonas fuscans subsp. fuscans (Xff) is one of the causal agents of the common bacterial blight of bean. This seed-borne disease is worldwide distributed and is responsible for serious economic damages to the bean production. This justifies that this bacterial pathogen is classified in quarantine lists in countries that are still disease-free. Xff CFBP 4884 is motile by a single polar flagellum. This strain was isolated from the same epidemic than a non-flagellated strain, Xff 4834-R, the genome of which was previously released (Darrasse et al., 2013). Comparison of these two genomes will provide further information on differences between these two strains, which were seed-borne and cohabited on bean leaves.
