资源简介:
## **Abstract** \n\nThe dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.\n\n\n\nRiver cross sections for simulation nodes in the Hunter subregion obtained using data on nearby cross-sections and streamflow estimates and a simple trapezoidal cross-section. The data is in a comma separated file (CSV). The relevant information contained in the CSV is as follows: Site, cross section ID, order (measurement), chain and level. This dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from existing cross-section data obtained from DPI Water, or modelled streamflow data.\n\n## **Purpose** \n\nThe cross-sections are used in river modelling to determine river reach volumes and gains (e.g. rainfall on river) and losses (e.g. leakage to groundwater, evapotranspiration from river).\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nIn Australia, cross-section data are generally available at streamflow gauges only. River model simulations are required to assess the impacts of coal development on streamflow at several locations where cross-section data is lacking. Regional hydraulic geometry models can be obtained using proxies (catchment area, mean annual streamflow) that can be readily obtained. An approach to produce stream cross-sections in headwater catchments with no data, by assuming that cross-sections at nearby gauging stations (or at gauging stations draining a comparable catchment area, or at gauging stations with comparable mean annual streamflow) provided a reasonable estimate of bottom channel width. The information on bottom channel width was then converted into a trapezoidal cross-section with a height able to accommodate AWRA-L 90 percentile streamflow. There were locations between or close to existing gauges, the cross-section of the closer gauge or gauge with similar catchment area was chosen in these instances.\n\n## **Dataset Citation** \n\nBioregional Assessment Programme (2016) HUN AWRA-R Simulation Node Cross Sections v01.
