Insect-specific viruses in mosquitoes, multi-pathogen assays, and neurological infections in humans and animals

Dataset describing the selection and results of mosquitoes collected across South Africa (2017-2018) screened for Orthobunya- and Phleboviruses. Dataset containing the sample information and the screening results of the TaqMan Array Card (targeting common animal and zoonotic pathogens in Sub-Saharan Africa) and viral-metagenomics on the set of animals experiencing unexplained neurological disease, death, abortion or acute death in South Africa (2021) used in this study. Dataset containing the sample information and the screening results of the TaqMan Array Card (targeting common human and zoonotic pathogens in Sub-Saharan Africa) and viral-metagenomics on the set of humans hospitalized with neurological signs (ANDEMIA) during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2021), and that died due to unknown causes during (EXHALE) (2020) and following (SUDA) (2023) the pandemic used in this study.
