Shewanella sp. TC10 Genome sequencing and assembly. Shewanella sp. TC10

Shewannella sp. TC10 has been isolated in the Toulon bay, France in 2008 after 6h immersion of a Silicone ELP08/55554/13 substratum in the mediterranean sea. This strain appears to secrete an exopolymer that may help other bacteria to survive in biofilm. In order to understand these biotic interactions at the molecular level (RNAseq....), Shewannella sp. TC10 genome need to be sequenced. It will also help to finalize its identification using genome-scale phylogenetic tools. Shewanella are known to utilize various components for its survival and to be involved in bioremediation.
