Parkes observations for project P564 semester 2007APRS

In recent months we have continued to study the remarkable radio magnetar
XTE J1810-197 using a variety of telescopes spanning the radio-infrared-X-ray
range. A great deal of temporal variation is observed, with the pulsar
now generally much weaker (and hence harder to observe) than before
late July 2006. At Parkes we have obtained unique information on the
polarimetric characteristics of its emission. We have no idea whether
the pulsar will disappear below detectability (or brighten!) within the
coming term, and wish to maintain close monitoring of its behaviour.
At Parkes we will concentrate on using the unique complement of
receivers and backends available for polarimetric studies, along with
some timing/spectral studies that cannot be done at GBT this term.
In all, we request 60 hr of Parkes time this semester.
