资源简介:
Most of Latinos' texts are focused on the question of identity, and language is the most important symbol through which Latinos occupy in-between spaces of expression and communication in an English-speaking context. As a result, language and reflection on language play a fundamental role in Latino literature. Latinos' literary texts are variously marked by bilingualism, through which both the metalinguistic function of code-switching and the practice of Spanglish stand out from and towards an identity viewpoint. This article proposes a comparative analysis of metalinguistic references in the writings of some authors, such as Gloria Anzaldua, Tato Laviera, Marisa Montes and Olga A. García Echeverría, who reflect on language by describing the linguistic situation of their community. Code-switching and Spanglish cannot be reduced to mere stylistic devices. On the contrary, they are the hallmarks of Latino identity card despite both standard English and standard Spanish.
