Dual cognition and risk-taking behaviour

The dataset used in this study corresponds to the responses of subjects in an experimental investigation of the influence of two distinct mental processing types on risk-taking behavior within the context of one-shot decisions. The study aligns with the prevailing literature, which suggests that the brain employs both slow and reflective as well as fast and intuitive processing modes when evaluating prospects and executing decisions. To explore this, the research leveraged time pressure to elicit an intuitive response. The dataset records portfolio allocation choices, treatment conditions, response time, and sociodemographic characteristics.
