资源简介:
This dataset contains the detailed results of interaction analyses conducted as part of a longitudinal study investigating the relationship between housing energy efficiency and the incidence of asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in Wales. The study utilised linked data from the Secure Anonymised Information Linkage (SAIL) Databank, connecting individual-level primary care health records with dwelling-level Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) data. The dataset consists of four tabs within an Excel spreadsheet, respectively presenting the results of Cox proportional hazards regression models that included interaction terms for each of smoking status, tenure type, property type, and rurality, separately for both outcomes (asthma, tabs 1 and 2, and COPD, tabs 3 and 4) and exposures (wall type, tabs 1 and 3, and EPC rating category, tabs 2 and 4). These analyses were conducted to explore whether the associations between housing energy efficiency measures (specifically wall insulation type and overall EPC rating band) and respiratory health outcomes (incidence of asthma and COPD) were modified by these key socio-demographic and housing characteristics (with smoking and rurality selected due to their potential impacts on indoor and outdoor air pollution respectively). The tabs are:Interactions - Asthma wall type.csv: Results for interactions between wall insulation type and smoking status, tenure type, property type, and rurality in relation to asthma incidence.Interactions - Asthma and EPC.csv: Results for interactions between EPC rating band and smoking status, tenure type, property type, and rurality in relation to asthma incidence.Interactions - COPD wall type.csv: Results for interactions between wall insulation type and smoking status, tenure type, property type, and rurality in relation to COPD incidence.Interactions - COPD and EPC.csv: Results for interactions between EPC rating band and smoking status, tenure type, property type, and rurality in relation to COPD incidence. Each file provides Hazard Ratios (HR), 95% Confidence Intervals (lower_ci, upper_ci), and p-values for the main exposure categories and their interaction terms with the specified potential effect modifiers. These supplementary results support the findings presented in Chapter 5 of the PhD thesis "Housing Energy Efficiency and Health: A National Longitudinal Data Linkage Study" (University College London, submitted September 2025).
