On the way to elucidate the effects of cannabidiol (CBD) on living organisms - assessment of changes in the intestinal microbiome

Cannabidiol (CBD) is an active ingredient commonly utilized in the production of cosmetic, food, medical products and dietary supplements. Recent reports indicate that the consumption of CBD could potentially impact the quantity and quality of the gut microbiome, thereby influencing overall health and physiological condition. A study was conducted to analyze how different doses of CBD, administrated intraperitoneally, could alter the microbial composition of the duodenum contents in a mouse model.
