资源简介:
ssRNA bacteriophages are very abundant but poorly studied, particularly in relation to their effect on bacterial evolution. Leviviridae have the capacity to establish a carrier state in which phages are continuously released, constituting a reservoir and exerting pressure on bacteria. We have isolated from hospital waste water a novel Pseudomonas aeruginosa levivirus, vB_PaeL_PcyII-10_LeviOr01. Its size is 3669 nucleotides and it encodes four putative proteins. Following bacterial infection, a carrier state is established in a fraction of cells conferring superinfection immunity and favoring the emergence of type IV pilus receptor mutants, but also of mutations affecting LPS biosynthesis. The study hosts whole genome sequence from the levivirus, the sequencing reads used to assemble the sequence, and sequencing reads from four P. aeruginosa strain PcyII-10 colonies carrying the virus.
