A commentary on the Tajrîd [ed note: i. e. Tajrīd al-iʿtiqād of Naṣīr al-dīn al-Ṭūsī (d. 1274 CE)], commonly called الشرح القدیم, by Shams al-dîn Abu’l-thanâ Maḥmûd IṢFAHÂNÎ (d. A.H. 749 [= 1348-49 CE]). Cf.  Ḥ. Kh. ii. 194 sq., and Cat. Lugd.[=Catalogus codicum orientalium Bibliothecae Academiae Lugduno-Batavae] iv. 246 sq.

This is a commentary by اقول … قال; it includes the whole text of the Tajrîd. The preface, quoted in Ḥ. Kh., l.c., is wanting. Begins:

قال اما بعد حمد....علی ستة مقاصد اقول لما کان علم الکلام (باحثا)1 عن امور یعلم منها المعاد و ما یتعلق به من الجنة و النار الخ

Well written, by Idrîs b. Ḥamzah (حمز, sic) b. Shu’aib Ḥanafî المنتشاوی; of the tenth century [i.e circa 1490-1590 CE]. Some notes. Thin paper. Foll. 178, 184, 188, and 193 are injured. Single leaves are missing after foll. 195, 203, 205, 209, 214, and 216. Several foll., including the beginning, have been supplied by a later hand.

Bîj. Libr., A.H. 1055 (=1645-46 CE), “from the Nawwâb” (Muṣṭafa Khân). Seals of Muḥammad ‘Âdil Shâh, “his servant” Muṣṭafa Khân, and ‘Aṭâ Allah b. Jamâl al-dîn Aḥmad Gîlânî.
